At Medical Data Hub, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the confidentiality and security of your personal data, in accordance with the EU 2016/679 General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and the Belgian law of 30 July 2018 on the protection of individuals about the processing of personal data.  

This Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data collected through our website www.medicaldatahub.org and/or www.medicaldatahub.eu  (the “Website”) and outlines your rights concerning your data. 

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in laws or practices. We encourage you to review it regularly to stay informed of how we protect your data. 

Definitions

  • Site User: Any person accessing and using the website as a visitor.
  • Visitor:  Any person visiting the website without creating a user account.
  • MEDICAL DATA HUB Website:  Refers to the main website of MEDICAL DATA HUB, accessible at  www.medicaldatahub.org and/or www.medicaldatahub.eu.
  • Data Controller:  The legal person responsible for determining the purposes and methods of personal data processing.
  • Personal Data:  Any information that can identify, directly or indirectly, a natural person.
  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):  The European regulation governing the processing of personal data (Regulation No. 2016/679 of April 27, 2016), effective since May 25, 2018. 

Purposes and Legal Bases for Data Processing

Access to the website www.medicaldatahub.org and/or www.medicaldatahub.eu (hereinafter the “Website”) implies the User’s full and unreserved acceptance of this Privacy Policy (hereinafter the “Policy”), as well as its general terms of use and the Cookies Policy. 

The User acknowledges having read the information below and authorizes Medical Data Hub to process, in accordance with the provisions of the Policy, the personal data that he/she communicates on the Website. 

The Policy is valid for all pages hosted on the Website. It is not valid for the pages hosted by third parties to which Medical Data Hub may refer and whose privacy policies may differ. Medical Data Hub cannot therefore be held responsible for any data processed on these websites or by them. This Policy also applies to any other website that Medical Data Hub may operate, including our Company pages on LinkedIN. 

The Medical Data Hub acts as a Data Controller within the meaning of the GDPR and processes the following personal data: 

  • Communication with you and Medical Data Hub: your surname, first name, email address and any other personal information of your choice.  We will use your data to respond as a user to your queries in the contact form of this Website; 

Medical Data Hub has a lawful interest in answering the requests or queries raised by you through the existing different contact channels. We understand that the processing of these data is also beneficial to you to the extent that it enables us to assist you adequately and answer to the queries raised. 

  • Technical data: e.g. cookies may store in certain circumstances personal data which may include: IP addresses, browser type, location, operating system For more information, see Cookies Notice. 
  • Aggregate data: aggregate statistical data (e.g. Company page on LinkedIn*) Some information related to the follower’s visits are collected in an aggregate way by LinkedIn. We can access to statistics provided by LinkedIn to have information on the way our page is consulted. MDH has a lawful interest to understand the way its page is consulted (e.g. frequency of consultation, from which country,…). 

MEDICAL DATA HUB ensures that only the personal data necessary for these specific purposes is collected and processed, and it maintains the confidentiality of all messages submitted. 

* For the use of social media, Medical Data Hub will be Joint-controller with LinkedIn, only for the following activities: accessing and processing statistical aggregate data provided by LinkedIn. For any other processing on the platform, social media platform shall be considered as the sole data controller. LinkedIN have created an “addendum” to their user agreements for company pages for the processing for which they are Joint-controllers with us.  

Recipients of Personal Data

Your personal data is exclusively processed by authorized personnel within MEDICAL DATA HUB. We do not transfer your personal data to third parties unless required by law or in response to legal requests from authorities, such as during legal proceedings or investigations. 

Retention of Personal Data

  • Communication with you and Medical Data Hub: your personal data will be retained for as long as necessary to meet your request/ application and to fulfill the purposes mentioned in this Privacy Policy. 
  • Aggregate data: Statistical information are stored by LinkedIn, and consequently subject to their retention policy. We may export statistical reports, but we guarantee that this is only in an anonymous form. 

The data related to your browsing collected by the cookies or other trackers that you have authorized has a specific storage period in accordance with what is indicated in the Cookie Management Policy.

  • Right to Rectification:  You can request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.

  • Right to Data Portability:  You can request a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
  • Right to Restriction of Processing:  You can request that the processing of your data be limited in certain circumstances.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent:  You can withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time.

Medical Data hub has contracted OVHcloud as a service provider for the integration and hosting of data within a database.

Transfer of Personal Data

  • MEDICAL DATA HUB does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personal data. 
  • MEDICAL DATA HUB ensures that personal data collected through its website is not transferred outside the European Union.  
  • For aggregate data, data are hosted on LinkedIN servers and are subject to their Privacy Policies. We do not share statistical reports that we may own.
